Being creative in the garden - why i love the summer.

Little Gracie arrived into the world last week (on Ava's Birthday!) so i made a few little gifts for her (and her mummy and daddy) to say a big hello. I love making these baby things as they can't help but look cute on their new owners - will have to get some photo's of Gracie in her new shoes when they fit (oh how tiny and beautiful her new little feet are)

All packed up and ready to go with a few extra bits added to make life a little easier for two wonderful new parents x

It was little Ava's 2nd birthday yesterday (where is the time going!) so mummy got the yearly cake decorating bug and make a 'teddy bears picnic' cake. I had so much fun making this and despite being told 'i'd got too much time on my hands' (how little they know of late nights and making mini icing sandwiches in the early hours) I was quite pleased considering i'm a novice - Ava loved the sugar overload anyway!

So happy birthday my little angel - these last two years have been the best xx

Meet molly my first doll - a present for a friends god daughter. I've never made a doll before so was quite chuffed when Molly emerged from all the stitching (& unpicking!). I didn't have a pattern for this so looked at some other dolls online for inspiration.

She has been wrapped and send straight off ready for the Christening at the weekend - i so hope she is loved and treasured - i have a feeling she may be having some sisters very soon. x

Little Green Cardigan

When i was at a charity fete last weekend i stumbled across this little green cardigan for my daughter as i just loved the colour. It had been knitted lovingly for charity but i had ideas for this cardigan as soon as i saw it- i knew there were lots of buttons and ribbons at home just waiting for such a treat.

And so after a bit of tweaking - this new green cardigan emerged

The flower was inspired by a lovely flower i saw on House on hill road and i'm sure i'll be doing many more of them.

 

and then i remembered the back !!!!

I feel quite guilty that i bought it for only £2 !!

Testing Testing 1,2,3 !!!!

Well we finally have lift off ( i hope) 

After months (if not years) of deciding whether to start blogging or not I am finally here - just why it seems so scary is still a mystery. I have pondered and perused so many delightful and inspiring sites, I seem to find myself in some sort of time warp each time i start surfing and before i know it 2,3 even 4 hours have passed me by and that little project i had in mind has slipped to yet another day. And so this my very own blog site should also encourage me to share my own creations with like minded fabric stashers and button hoarders and also to prove to my partner that i'm not having an online affair - just an affair of the heart with those share my passion for things hand made. 

Where this will lead i do not know - but having recently been given the opportunity to start a new direction in life (loss of permanent job) it can only lead to happiness.
